Dear crochet friends,
All of a sudden, we find ourselves at home for the foreseeable future. I have WIP’s that need to be finished up, of course. But, sometimes I would rather work on something new and fun.
Our LYS is temporarily closed by the #StayatHome order here in PA. I suspect yours is, too. We all turned to online ordering like it was our job, only to find that within the last week or two, many of our usual sources are shutting down for now. What are we supposed to do now???

Guess what? You probably have enough yarn in your stash to finish a few things, either for yourself or for someone else. It’s never too early to think about stocking stuffers, amiright?! Frankly, filling those Christmas stockings can be one of the most daunting parts of holiday shopping. So, use this opportunity to get a head start. Or, you can make a little something special to brighten a friend or family member’s day during this crazy time.
If your yarn stash is anything like mine, it tends to get out of hand. A lot of the yarn I have comes from past projects. I tend to use the same few yarns for a lot of my designs and those extras tend to pile up. I also have an obsession for buying yarn from indie dyers when I visit a fiber festival.
Well, it’s time to deal with that stash and make it work for us while we wait for our favorite yarn distributors to come back online. I’m here to help you find some cute, fun projects to whip up with your leftover yarn. Over the course of the next few weeks, I’ll be posting free patterns to my blog – easy, quick projects just for you and me. You also might find a couple of my stash buster paid patterns free with coupon code so you need to stay tuned!

Yarn Stash pattern #1: The Double Thick Potholder
This is one of my favorites AND one of my most popular patterns. Just 1 hank of worsted weight cotton or 1.5 skeins of Lily’s Sugar n Cream and you’ll be able to make one of these classic potholders.
Visit my shop in Ravelry. To get the Double Thick Diagonal Potholder pattern free, enter the coupon code “FREEPOTHOLDER” at checkout. It’s only good until April 13 so don’t delay!
