sideways granny square pillow pattern
Do you need a cute throw pillow? Put this granny square pillow to work in your bedroom or on the couch. It’s a great stash busting project. Or, you can coordinate the colors to match whatever decor the pillow will be a part of!
I’m continuing on my quest to use crochet to decorate my home! With the renovations complete on our 2nd guest bedroom, I designed 4 pillows to provide color and pizazz to a gray/navy neutral color palette. Except for the light pink/light blue pillow on the right, all of the other pillows in this picture use the same colors. I love the way they all look so different…
Anyway, the one we’re talking about is the little guy with the pompoms right in the front. I have to admit the design was in my head, but I made up the color order on the fly. I am SO happy with the way it turned out. And, I especially love that I’ve finally gotten on the pompom train. If you’ve never made them, RUN, don’t walk, to your nearest craft store and get a pompom maker. You’ll love adding them to all kinds of projects.
Here are the details…
Sideways Granny Square Pillow | Crochet Pattern

About the pillow…
The pillow is made with 4 7-round traditional granny squares that are seamed with a slip stitch on the outside of the pillow, creating a decorative ridge. The corners of the granny squares meet in the middle of the front and back of the pillow, giving the illusion that the granny squares are actually triangles. With the seaming ridge and the pompoms, the simple granny square is transformed into something fun.
What comes with the pattern…
Detailed written instructions, a crochet chart for the granny square, and a photo tutorial showing how to assemble and seam the pillow.
Skill level: Advanced beginner
Written in English using US crochet terminology

Hi Debbie. I would love to have the pattern of the light pink/light blue granny square pillow cover. I looked on Ravelry but didn’t see it. Also if it’s a free pattern please.
Kimberly,
I haven’t written that pattern yet. Maybe this is the motivation I need to get it done!
Best,
Debbie
