I’m Debbie Field, better known as MadameStitch! I’ve been a crafter and DIY-er since I was a teenager; that’s about a gazillion years ago. My specialty is crochet, although I DO love to knit. I’m always trying new stitch patterns and figuring out how to use them with a beautiful yarn to create scarves, blankets, and all manner of yarn-y goodness.
I am a Level II Certified Crochet Instructor, a program offered through the Craft Yarn Council. I teach a weekly crochet class at my LYS where I teach beginners who have never picked up a hook, as well as my regulars who are willing to join me in a challenge. While I’ve been crocheting for well over 45 years, I’ve been offering my original designs on Etsy and Ravelry since 2014. As a member of the Crochet Guild of America, I have also earned my Master of Advanced Stitches and Techniques.
I have retired from teaching private voice lessons at a local college. I spend loads of time with my family, and I love to read, be outdoors, and play with my mini Aussie-poo, Daisy! I lead a busy, fulfilling life which means I choose patterns with easily acquired stitch patterns and repetitions without sacrificing style. That’s what drives my designs as well. I can be found working on a project just about anywhere I happen to be.
Along with my patterns and products, I am now offering crochet tech editing services. For many years I have been editing and re-writing patterns for myself and my crochet class. I have taken 2 tech editing courses offered by JoeliCreates. I am now accepting new clients, crochet only. More information is available under “Professional Services”.
